Chapter 320
(Author’s POV)
“JUMP~ JUMP, if you can. Jump, of you dare. Jump and die, you bitch,” a gravelly, almost demonic voice echoed inside Myra’s head as it urged her to jump from the edge of the cliff.
Although Myra tried to sound calm and composed, but the tremble in her voice was betraying her, “Do~ you~ do you think I am joking? I will really jump from this cliff and die p>
Thunderous roars and laughter erupted around her, listening to her threats. This was followed by loud chants of mockery towards her, “JUMP JUMP JUMP JUMP~ DIE… DIE… DIE DIE p>
Myra clenched her fists so tight that her fingernails were digging into her palms, a little blood oozed out of it. Her eyes were bloodshot and red. She was scared to the core, but she didn’t let it show on her face. With a defiant and decisive look, she exhaled a deep breath and stared straight at the darkness that had been chasing her, mocking her.
Even in this moment, she was well aware that this was all a nightmare. After all, she has experienced this countless times. But no matter how many times she has gone through something like this, it was still horrifying and terrorizing for her. It would haunt her.
“You think you can make me kneel down and surrender to you. YOU FUCKING WISH~,” Myra mumbled under her breath, and a smile cold as ice traced on her lips. Then, without any warning, instead of jumping off the cliff, Myra ran toward the darkness with full force. With just a stick in her hand, which she had hidden under her sleeve, she charged forward, with a deafening battle cry, “AAAAAAARRGGGHHHHHHHH~ I WON’T BACK DOWN. NEVERRRRRRRRR p>
The jeers and chants only grew seeing her desperate actions, as she rushed forward like a mad person. It seemed like she was possessed. “DIE~ DIE~ DIE~ DIE~,” several voices resonated inside Myra’s ears, but she didn’t stop, not even for a second, nor did she hesitate.
But as soon as she made contact with the darkness, a booming, sonorous sound reverberated in the atmosphere. She was thrown back with extreme and brutal force, which initially woke her up with a jolting start.
*Huff huff pant pant Myra gasped for air as she was heaving, her body drenched in cold sweat. Goosebumps settled all over as she looked around, trying to process everything that she had gone through.
“It’s just a nightmare. It is all just a nightmare. Nothing has happened. Nothing will happen,” she repeated as she rubbed her chest simultaneously.
Slowly and steadily, Myra’s nerves calmed down as she began to feel parched. Looking to her right side, she reached for the glass of water and took a sip. All of a sudden, she felt as if, other than her, there was someone else in her room. She stopped mid way, her eyes flickered violently, as her breath hitched. But it was only for a short moment. She resumed drinking water again and mumbled, “It’s gone cold. I should go to the kitchen and reheat it.” Then, with cautious steps, she slipped into her slippers and went out of her room.
As soon as the room shut, she locked the door from outside and sprinted towards Yelena’s room without a second thought. She didn’t even knock, just stepped inside her room, and went straight for Yelena, who was in a deep sleep.
Myra’s hands were quivering as she reached towards Yelena to call her, “YEL~ YEL, wake up p>
Yelena mumbled something in her sleeping state and then turned to the other side. Myra called out to her again, as she shook her, “Yelena, please~… wake up. Yelena p>
Hearing the incoherent voice, Yelena’s brows creased as she opened her eyes narrowly. With a hoarse and scratchy voice, she asked, “My~ra? What are you doing here p>
“Yel, I~ I think~ there is someone inside my room,” she whispered, the tremor was obvious in her tone.
Yelena didn’t quite register what she said. She rubbed her eyes, got up and then looked at Myra’s face. She could tell that the girl was scared out of her wits. Sleep instantly vanished from her eyes as she asked, “What happened? Why do you look so frightened p>
Myra repeated, “I think there is someone in my room p>
Yelena scrunched her nose, “Someone is in your room, huhh?” Then realizing Myra’s words, she repeated, “There is someone inside your room. What the fuck~ She saw that Myra’s whole body was shivering, so she held her shoulders and muttered, “Myra, relax. Firstly, take a deep, long breath and then exhale slowly p>
Myra did exactly as she was told, then Yelena added, “Now, tell me what you saw p>
“I woke up~ I woke up from my sleep~ to drink some water, but then I heard some movement in my room. I got out at once and came straight to your room,” Myra told her. She omitted the part about the nightmare because it will only worry Yelena.
Yelena tilted her head to understand the situation. She remembered the mess inside Myra’s room, and her conversation with Fabian hit her. She then announced, “Let’s go to your room. Let me see who dared to come inside your room uninvited p>
“What if~ what if that person~ has a weapon. We should make a call to the police,” Myra said.
“Then we will go with preparation,” Yelena picked up a fruit knife as well as a baseball bat from her cabinet and said, “Did you forget, I have trained in martial arts. Trust me.” She assured Myra.
“But~ Yelena~ Myra still didn’t want to take any chances. After all, she had encountered vicious, bloodthirsty animal like creatures in past. “We should not take any risks p>
“Ra~ra, trust me on this one,” Yelena’s voice was full of conviction. Myra nodded hesitantly as they both made their way towards Myra’s room, tiptoeing around. Their steps were filled with extreme caution.
Yelena took charge and walked in front, while Myra held her forearm as they reached outside her room. Myra then whispered, “I locked the door, just in case the person tried to come after me or harm others.” Yelena nodded in understanding, “Good move p>
She then unlocked the door and very slowly bent the handle to get inside. But before that, Yelena handed the baseball to Myra and said, “If that person tries to come near you, strike with full force without thinking. As hard as you can, okay p>
Myra nodded like a child. Then very skillfully, as if she were a professional killer, Yelena held the fruit knife, and they both stepped inside Myra’s room, one after another. They were extremely careful with their actions. They didn’t even switch on the lights, as they didn’t want the alert the intruder.
Yelena tapped Myra’s hand and signalled her to go the other way as she stepped forward like an assassin. Myra had already told her where she thought the person might be, so Yelena marched in that very direction.
But as soon as she reached towards the curtain, she charged at it, “You fucking asshole. Dare to trespass on our property. I WILL KILL YOU.” But to her utter surprise, the only thing she caught was nothing, absolutely nothing.
Myra clicked on the lights and found that there was no one else. They both started searching the room frantically. But even after multiple attempts, they found no one. They search the bathroom, behind the bed, under the bed, in her wardrobe, not leaving a single hidden place.
“There is no trace of any intruder,” Yelena sighed in relief. “Are you sure? You really saw someone p>
“I~ I~ Myra hesitated. She raked her brains out, thinking hard about what she felt and saw. After much thinking, she wasn’t so sure anymore.
With an embarrassing look, Myra stood awkwardly, not looking Yelena in the eye.
Yelena came towards her, took the baseball from her hand and settled her, “It’s okay. You have had a rough day. And you were sick as well. Maybe you misunderstood the rustling of the curtain.” She pointed toward the open window.
A seed of doubt was now sown in Myra’s mind. She didn’t know what she really saw. Yelena saw the dilemma in her eyes and said, “Don’t fret too much. It happens with all of us. Come, I will sleep with you p>
Myra nodded, but her eyes traced the open window.

’What the fuck were you trying to do, Alex? Did you want to get discovered? Are you out of your goddamn mind? Since when have you been acting so stupidly?’ Alaric reprimanded his wolf harshly. He then added, his tone exaggerated, ’Ohhhh~ I know since when. You have fucking lost your mind ever since that cursed, wrecked time. When you called her~ he left it at that.
’I just~ I lost control there. Al, it pained me to see her in so much distress. I couldn’t help it. Didn’t you feel it too?’ Alex’s voice was filled with ache.
