Chapter 397
(Author’s POV)
“What happened, Ms. Miracle? What are you thinking so deeply?” Gavin spoke from behind, pulling Myra out of her reverie. Though they were now outside the staff building, her mind remained on all that had unfolded in Oswald Mitchell’s office.
“Uhhh~… it’s nothing,” she shook her head and inquired, “But~ Gavin, are you alright? Because of my matter, you got dragged into this mess.” She voiced out feeling guilty.
“Ms. Miracle~ I~ Gavin started. “You can just call me by my name,” Myra interrupted. She was feeling awkward with this formal title. After all, he was a fellow student.
“Can I~ he blushed, then continued, “Myra~ you don’t have to feel guilty about it at all. None of this was your fault. Instead, you were the victim, here, and I got involved because it was my choice to defend you. See the brighter side~ Nigel Long is suspended for a period until further notice, in addition to being handed two demerit points. Plus, his friends got a suspension for a month and a penalty point each. All is well that ends well, right?” He tried to cheer her up. Then he raised a question, “By the way~ who do you think sent the anonymous tip to Prof. Johnson’s office? Who would dare to go against Nigel? Do you have any idea p>
It has been on her mind, but she wasn’t so sure about who it could be. She shook her head in denial, “Got no idea p>
He snapped his fingers and spoke, “Maybe it is~ Prof. Stephens~ He said it a bit too excitedly. Realizing what he had just uttered, Gavin clicked his tongue and explained while stammering, “Ummm~ what I mean is that~ I heard that~ you two are close friends~ so, I thought~ He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, “Ummm~ I am sorry, I misspoke, Ms. Miracle~ I mean Myra p>
She let out a soft chuckle listening to him, but before she could give him a response, a tall, robust figure came between the two, “What are you talking about? Seems interesting. Do you mind if I join in as well p>
Myra glanced to her right, to find Alaric smiling at her, it was more of a smirk. He wasn’t even looking at Gavin.
Gavin became flustered, distanced himself a bit and muttered, lowering his head, “Mr. Everests~ we were~… just~ trying to figure out about the person~ who sent the tip p>
“So, what did you find out? Who is it?” Alaric asked casually but was oddly interested. Myra narrowed her eyes at him. Returning an amusing look, he said, “I was also involved here. So, I also deserve to know. Don’t you think so p>
Gavin thought his words were reasonable and expressed his opinion, “We still don’t know yet. But it can be Prof. Stephens. He is~ p>
The smile on Alaric’s face was wiped out as he spat out instantly, “I assure you. It is definitely not him.” He then shifted his gaze to Gavin and ordered, “You can go now. Ms. Miracle and I have something urgent to discuss.” He shooed him away.
“But I~ Gavin felt something off from his sudden change in demeanour. But when he glanced at Myra, she nodded and gestured for him to go ahead.
With no choice left, he had to depart. As he reached some distance, Myra recalled something and called out, “Gavin~ I will give you your library card the next time, okay p>
Gavin, in return, gave her a heartfelt, broad smile and nodded. After that, he walked away.
Alaric was looking at their exchange, an inexplicable feeling cropped up inside him. He tightened his fists unconsciously. Myra was beaming, but when she turned and gazed at him, her expression had done a complete one eighty degree. Her eyes now held coldness and a bit of uncertainty as she spoke, her tone formal, “What do you have to say to me, Mr. Everests p>
He stared at her for a while and, after a brief pause, said, “Come with me p>
“I am not going anywhere with you,” she sounded hostile. “Here is fine. Say whatever you have to say p>
Alaric stepped closer to her, narrowing the distance. Myra’s eyes darted nervously around to see if anyone was watching them. Arching an eyebrow, Alaric lowered his face, levelling himself up to Myra’s height and mumbled softly, “If you want the entire campus to know about your acquaintance with me, then I don’t mind. I will say it here p>
Myra was discomposed by his words and quickly said, “No~ Let’s go.” Saying this, she didn’t even wait for him and started walking briskly in a certain direction, her cheeks matching the color of a beetroot.
Alaric couldn’t help himself as a chortle came out of his mouth, seeing her amusing reactions. He followed her lazily.

“Your majesty, the Lycan have arrived,” Iris announced.
Jacob, who was lying in his bed, hummed in response. The three Lycan siblings stood beside each other, the canopy curtain concealing their view.
With great difficulty, Jacob managed to utter, “Welcome~ I have heard from~ Healer Hector~ Chris asked you~… to stay at the mansion p>
“It’s nothing. King Larson. We are confederates; it’s our responsibility to help one another,” Brave replied curtly. “How are you feeling now p>
“Feeling~ Jacob labored a light laugh. “Can I say~ awful. It feels like~ my entire body~ every bone~ everything is on fire p>
His words were met with a deafening silence. Sensing the eerie atmosphere, Jacob spoke, “I also heard~ you, Lycan heir, Alaric and~ princess Nora were the ones who~ rescued me from~ the depths of the sea. I would like to extend~ my gratitude for that. I never thought~ I would be~ able to make it p>
His sincere words moved Nora. She replied, “Anyone in our position would do that, and as brother Brave said, it is our duty as allies, Vampire King p>
“Princess Nora~ not everyone possesses a heart like yours. People surrounding the likes of us are more cutthroat than you can imagine,” Jacob stated. Out of the blue, he asked, “Young Alpha Dion, you are~ a lot quieter~ than usual. Is there ~ something on your mind?
