Chapter 437

“Do you think I intentionally hid about Myra from you?” Dion remarked as he looked back at his sister.
After taking a moment, without taking her eyes off, Nora answered flatly, “No~ I trust you, Brother Dio. You won’t do such a thing to me p>
Though he remained calm on the surface, his grip on the steering wheel tightened as they entered the vicinity of Red Stone University. Brave’s car was right ahead of theirs. As they all arrived at their destination and entered the Larson mansion, someone was already seated inside, with quite a few unfamiliar faces.
They were settled in the living room. The lady, dressed in a refined manner, was wearing an emerald colored formal dress, looking prim and elegant. The man sitting beside her was in a tailored brown, double breasted suit, looking sharp. When the brothers stepped inside, with Elisa meekly following behind, they were all puzzled to see the newcomers.
But when Brave’s eyes landed on the third person, he spoke, sounding uncertain, “You are~ the one from two nights ago p>
The girl, forced to dress like a proper lady, looked at the source of the voice. Her mouth hung open, eyes ready to bulge out, as she saw the Everests’ siblings approaching. She was so shocked that she even forgot to utter a sound.
Brave knitted his brows together as he tried to confirm. The girl in front of him was in an off white pleated long skirt and the same colored knit crop top. It was a drastic contrast from the person he saw at the beach. In his mind, her image was that of a messy person, with an oversized hoodie and a slipper missing, not that of an aristocratic person.
Nora had left her phone in the car, so she went to grab it. She was the last person to come inside.
When she walked in, her eyes immediately spotted the guests. As soon as she set her sight on the girl, she uttered with immense surprise, “You are~ Yelena~… Yates p>
Yelena’s eyes widened. Her state was like a deer caught up in the headlights. Though she remained mum, her mind was popping up with chaotic thoughts, ’What are they all doing here? I came with grandpa and grandma so that I could visit Fabian and ask him about his health. I insisted on waiting for him. But~… I think my choice has backfired on me. What do I do now? What should I say?’ She clasped her fists so hard that her nails were digging into her palm, reddening the skin.
“Are you~… familiar with one another?” Brave queried, feeling even more puzzled. That night, in the car, neither Nora nor Yelena seemed to know each other. Then, how does Nora know the girl’s name?
“Yes, they are,” Garry was the one who spoke this time. “I suppose you are Mr. Brave Everests?
Brave nodded with suspicion. Meanwhile, Garry continued, “Your sister used to be an acquaintance of my granddaughter when she used to live in Damona p>
“They, too, are from Damona?” Elio mumbled under his breath.
“Pleasure to make your acquaintance. The four pillars of Everests’s Empire and the one and only princess,” Garry said. “I am Garry Yates, CEO of Yates’ Organisation p>
“Yates’ Organisation~ this sure rings a bell,” Dion commented.
“We are a conglomerate restaurateur. However, there are quite a few charity foundations laid by us. This is my wife, as well as one of my business partners, Diana Yates. And this~ is my granddaughter, Yelena Yates,” He introduced himself and his family to them, but remained seated on the couch, trying to display authority.
“Mr. Garry Yates, I guess we have met before,” Alaric remarked.
“Yes, we have met. You came to our mansion twice last December to discuss something about the redevelopment project,” Garry replied, as cool as a cucumber.
Now that Garry mentioned, Alaric instantly recalled how, in the pretext of talking about one of Yates’ oldest restaurants that was located in the suburban area of Damona, he went to their place and tried to ferret out any kind of information regarding Myra or her family.
The first time he went there, he couldn’t meet any of the Yates, only Garry’s personal assistant, Oliver Grey. And the second time was the month after that, when he met Garry. The meeting was extremely brief as both their schedules were packed. Alaric even had a flight to catch on the same day.
Garry didn’t give out any information about the Miracles. He simply behaved as if he and his family weren’t close to them. But now, Alaric could tell, it was all a façade. He knew about them being in Esteria.
“But~… what brings you here at this hour?” Brave questioned.
“We came to see Mr. Larson. He and I are closely acquainted as well. Now, we are waiting for Prof. Stephens~… but~… what are you all here for?” Garry posed a question of his own.
“Mr. Yates, on the Chairman’s request, they are staying at the mansion currently,” Iris came to the living room and announced.
“Ohh~… are they?” Garry arched his brow with interest.
“Is your foot okay now?” Brave queried, his gaze was on Yelena’s feet. She was wearing a pair of pointy rose gold heels.
Yelena nodded hesitantly.
“Look at your clumsiness, tskkk~… so uncouth. Discourteous. Don’t you have a mouth to answer, or is it just to spread rumors and spout nonsense?” Diana mumbled under her breath, clearly pissed off. Her voice was so low that only Yelena could hear it. But apart from Garry, everyone in the room, thanks to their sharp sense of hearing, heard her berating.
None of the brothers liked the old lady’s attitude and language towards her own granddaughter, but it wasn’t their place to comment.
Nora’s expression remained neutral as she pursed her lips. She and Yelena weren’t as close as she was with Myra. They only met occasionally. Myra once told her that Yelena and her grandmother weren’t on good terms. Now, seeing it with her own eyes, she could tell it was true.
And Elisa, she~ she simply didn’t give a fuck about anything. Instead, she was irritated by the fact that Brave sounded so concerned towards Yelena. ’One more fly, I need to get rid of,’ she snickered.
